This is about the company Anarkik3D & Anarkik3DDesign, its product, which is a haptic 3D modelling system specifically designed for designer makers and applied artists. It is easy to learn, intuitive and draws on our sense of touch, that is ‘haptics’.
The software is designed to work with a ‘3D mouse-type device’. The one we use is the Falcon haptic device which enables us artists to navigate naturally in 3 dimensions, giving tactile feedback about the virtual model being manipulated. This is a more natural way of working for applied artists as it builds on their hard-earned handcrafting skills. It is definitely for creatives who hate CAD.
The models created are perfect for 3D printing. Once they are printed out, we hand finish them, sometimes using traditional techniques such as metalworking, hand polishing and stone setting to produce unique pieces of work.
