Description
MiniScarf with 3Dprinted flame motifs:
This eco-friendly and unique MiniScarf is made in Scotland by Ann Marie Shillito from a mix of materials. Developing out of Ann Marie’s ‘Lockdown’ Project of 3D printing into fabric she is using up, for example, old stocks of 3D printer filament (PLA), and filament made from recycled plastics.
For designing the forms for her MiniScarf with 3Dprinted flame motifs, she uses Anarkik3DDesign*, a haptic 3D modelling programme which is optimised for 3D printing, which she does on an Ultimaker2+ desktop 3D printer.
Ann Marie’s goal is repurposing scrap into 2nd life materials, and away from landfill, through creative making towards zero waste. As a member of two groups, Applied Arts Scotland’s Closing the Loop (CtL) group and Katie Treggiden’s Making Design Circular she is looking at creative solutions to use, for example, waste filament from 3D printing process. Other aims for a more circular economy are using reclaimed, recycled and locally sourced material, supplied as locally as possible. Packaging is recycled/re-useable material such as biodegradable cellophane and whenever the product’s life comes full cycle contact Ann Marie (contact @anarkikcreationsd.co.uk) about returning it to be recycled.
*developed by her company, Anarkik3D Ltd.
